Duties:

The duties of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Providing advice and guidance to service owners regarding business continuity management,
  • Reviewing submissions (business impact analysis, business continuity plans, disaster resumption/recovery plans) from the service owners,
  • Maintaining the list of services within the department based on Sector and level of criticality,
  • Participate in the Event Team when there is/are service(s) disruption.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience within the security, Business Continuity or Emergency Management fields.

Degree equivalency


EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in administering or delivering business continuity planning and/or emergency preparedness programs.
  • Experience assisting in developing or implementing policies and/or procedures in a security, business continuity or emergency management operational environment.
  • Experience participating in working groups, collaborating and maintaining a network with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and associated policies with respect to emergency management and business continuity management.
  • Knowledge of business continuity management and its related Directives and Standards
  • Knowledge of business continuity and/or emergency management practices and systems.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging business continuity and/or emergency management issues.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work and project activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training in a field relevant to the position being staffed.

Degree equivalency


Knowledge of emergency management, lead security and intelligence agencies of the federal government, other orders of government and the private sector.
