SUMMARY
Perform various automated procedures as defined. Act as a resource person in the daily operations of manufacturing.

Duties vary from taping, running PVA, cutting boards, washing boards, simple go-no-go testing, helping in pack out and any relevant simple manufacturing/production related job.

The position reports to the Test Supervisor, Production Leader or designate.

This position is ideally suited for an experienced Test Operator working towards a Test Technician position or designation.

The incumbent will be expected to perform all the functions of a Test Operator with an opportunity to train, work towards and meet the criteria to qualify as a Test Technician, within staffing and operational needs, and as noted per the specific test occupational classification job requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform assigned production steps per work instructions.
  • Perform simple go on go testing as requested by the Production Leader.
  • Verify all processes are performed to the documentation.
  • Coordinate tasks with Supervisor and take priorities from them for work.
  • Integrate product if required, will include simple assembly instructions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that housekeeping/5S is being done at all areas and is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that each board is being properly scanned through Tecnomatix, read Tecnomatix instructions per the training specifications as outlined in TR

  • B to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure that scanning board and performing this operation has to be done using View Station
  • Bring all scanning related issues to the attention of the Production Leader.
  • Handle and store materials/boards using ESD guidelines.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production.
  • Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks to help out any other area in production.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole and SMT components, drawings and BOMS.
  • Familiar with IPC standards with respect to PCB repair.
  • Proficient use of microscope.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control.
  • Good work habits and housekeeping.
  • Working towards a Test Technician role or designation.
  • Experience with IPC Standards and ISO 9002 would be helpful.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or enrolled in a technical school would be an asset.

LOCATION

  • The position location is based in Markham, Ontario facilities (Building A and/or Building B)
  • Incumbent must be open to working at both facilities as business and operational needs dictate

WORK HOURS

  • Normal scheduled hours of work: 3:30 PM 12:00 AM, Afternoon Shift
