    About the BCLDB:

    The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

    In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Organizational Health and Safety teams.     About this role:

    The position performs research, analysis, and reporting functions in support of a best practice approach to strategic workforce planning and organizational development. The Senior HR Analyst reviews existing HR operational processes and makes strategic recommendations for process improvement, develops project plans, and leads implementation of continuous improvement projects. This role performs analysis of relevant HR data and uses various tools to translate data into meaningful metrics to support business decisions.

    There are three (3) permanent vacancies: one role in Occupational Health and Safety, one role in Talent, and one role in Employee Relations & Investigations.

    Position requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    Post secondary degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, or related field and one (1) year of recent and related human resources experience*.

    *Recent and related human resources experience must have occurred in the last 5 years and must include the following:

    • Experience examining existing processes, making recommendations, and leading process improvements to fruition.
    • Experience preparing reports to extract and present data in a professional context.
    • Experience using Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced formulas, pivot tables, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

    An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, i.e., a diploma in human resources, public administration, business administration or related field and two (2) years of recent, related human resources experience* as detailed above, or secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate with three (3) years of recent, related human resources experience*.

    Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following experience:

    • Experience with employee/labour relations, occupational health & safety, and/or recruitment.
    • Experience working with Visio or flow-charting software.
    • Experience working with PeopleSoft application.
