As an Operations Support Representative - Wealth & Estates

:


You will assume responsibility for providing a reliable, central point of contact to enable internal delivery staff, corporate partners, external contacts such as Solicitors, Trustees and Wealth Partners for all process and product support.

:


The Operations Support Representative will be proactive, forward-thinking, collaborative, resourceful and influential. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of Member service, contributing to quality control and operational efficiency within the Estates team to contribute to a positive Member experience.

What you will do

:


  • Create a consistent and positive experience for our partners and ultimately our Members.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Meridian's products and services to provide support to branches to fulfill deceased member file requests.
  • Keep abreast of system changes and/or projects that may have a direct or indirect impact on operational processes, including acting as a Subject Matter Expert on crossfunctional teams.
  • Maintain a high level of communication within Operations and Delivery to deliver quality and meet service standards.
  • Escalate issues, situations, or problems appropriately as they arise to the Manager of Estates.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes assessing the need to create or update existing policy and procedures.
  • Collaborate with your team to update internal procedures as processes change and/or improve.
  • Communicate bottleneck and pain points effectively if they are encountered in daytoday work; continuously look for ways to do things better.
  • Support development of all Estates Team Operations staff by providing training opportunities including ongoing crosstraining and knowledge transfer.

How you will succeed

:


  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working within the financial services industry.
  • Experience in providing advice and direction including, but not limited to: Wealth and deceased branch processes, Meridian products and Mutual Fund administration support, and compliance.
  • Expert working knowledge of business unit's risk and regulatory requirements, such as: FSCO, CRA, OFSI, MFDA, HRSDC, DICO, Credit Union By-Laws etc.
  • Mutual Fund License is an asset.
  • Exceptional relationship and communication skills combined with the ability to make decisions, recommendations; providing advice and direction including managing difficult situations where influencing and persuasion is required.
  • Capable of assessing impact of decisions on immediate, medium term, and longterm outcomes forward thinking outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability and creativity in developing and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize work and be flexible.
  • Advanced knowledge in

Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams

  • Knowledge of the following as well is an asset: Estates registered plan administration, Deceased year end reporting, Class A shares, Mutual Funds, Succession Act.
