We are looking for a hands-on Site Assistant for our Edmonton division who can work independently and take initiative in the field with general labor duties and operational of hand tools.
Job Overview:
The Site Assistant works directly with the Site Supervisor and Construction Team with hands-on labor & customer service tasks, including but not limited to:
- Review and understand construction plans
- Removing construction waste from sites, sweeping floors, vacuuming sites, shoveling walks, and other general labor work
- Operate a safe, secure and clean worksite, including building walk ways daily for access
- Ensure sites are clean and ready for inspections
- Plan and execute projects from start to finish, on time and on budget
- Supervise and motivate a team of tradespeople and subcontractors to maintain deadlines
- Perform inspections, QC checks and approvals of trade work
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Supervisor & Construction manager on material deliveries, timelines and budgets
- Assist team members when required
Qualifications:
- Effective time management skills, multitasking and prioritizing to meet multiple deadlines
- Willingness to assume responsibility, identify problems, able to take independent action but will request (or offer) assistance where required
- Works well in a team or independently
- Comfortable communicating with customers and tradespeople
- Ability to perform onsite warranty related repairs and pre and post occupancy repairs such as: silicone, building mechanical walls, door adjustments, paint repairs, etc.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools as necessary
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Physically fit & ability to lift heavier materials
- Team attitude and willingness to take on jobs
- Reliable vehicle (truck)
