At the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) we fuel kids and ignite learning, making sure all children in Ottawa have an equal start every day.

ONFE is a charitable organization that collaborates with partners from education, business, government, and the community to develop enriching programs for K-12 students.

Working with the four public school boards, ONFE supports children and youth in English and French.

No other community organization has the same reach and ability to respond and deliver much-needed programs to schools across the region.


Bilingual Advancement Coordinator**We are looking for a bilingual (English and French) self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized, and versatile individual to join our Advancement team.

The Advancement Coordinator works with the Advancement team to develop, expand, and implement fundraising and marketing strategies for ONFE. You are a constructive and creative problem solver, and comfortable with multi-tasking within a fast paced and changing environment.

You are excited about raising funds to support local K-12 students and developing working relationships with key stakeholders, internal, and external to ONFE.

The Advancement Coordinator reports to the Director of Advancement and works collaboratively with all ONFE staff.


Most work takes place during business hours; however, you should be willing to manage and flex time to work evenings and weekends.


Key Responsibilities:


Develop Fundraising Strategies:

  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to develop comprehensive fundraising and marketing plans and strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct research to identify fundraising trends, best practices, and new opportunities.

Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring regular communication and stewardship.
  • Implement donor recognition and retention strategies to enhance donor engagement and loyalty.
  • Respond to donor inquiries, acknowledge contributions, and provide appropriate followup and donor recognition.

Fundraising Event Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events including galas, charity auctions, and community fundraisers.
  • Collaborate with event vendors, volunteers, and internal teams to ensure smooth event logistics, promotion, and participant satisfaction.
  • Monitor event budgets, track expenses, and evaluate the success of fundraising events.

Database Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records using fundraising software or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Generate regular reports on fundraising activities, donor contributions, and campaign outcomes.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in fundraising efforts.
  • Demonstrate professional, respectful, collaborative working relationships.
  • Active participation and engagement in continuous learning.

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
  • 23 years of event management experience, preferably in fundraising.
  • 23 years of progressive experience in fundraising and/or marketing.
  • Experience using donor management software.
  • Satisfactory Police Record Check in alignment with ONFE's Conditions of Employment Policy.
  • Driver's license, and access to a reliable motor vehicle with insurance coverage that has no policy restrictions for work related driving.
  • Fluency in both French and English.

Hybrid Work:

ONFE offers a hybrid work environment, which requires work both in the office and remote.

This is a permanent full-time position, and the annual salary range is $50,000 to $60,000. ONFE offers a competitive benefit package including RSP matching.
