Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Assistant Terminal Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning and regulating of the day-to-day operation of the Edmonton Terminal.
About the position:
- Supporting the daily operation of the Terminal including Driver Support, Safety, Administration and Warehouse
- Liaising with Fleet Services to coordinate the utilization and maintenance of equipment
- Ensuring effective utilization of all driver schedules and equipment
- Effectively facilitating the resolution of driver concerns
- Facilitating training needs between Driver Support and Operations Group
- Ensuring customer requests are responded to in a timely manner including preparation of required information for meetings and planning sessions; ensure customer service commitments are met.
- Effective communication of available resources to the Dispatch Centers and ensure effective execution of customer service requirements
- Conducting site visits for customer reviews and service level validation resolve issues as required
- Conducting job observations on drivers when in field
- Ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial Regulations and company Policies and Procedures
- Participating in employee performance management, such as dispute resolution, discipline, communications in conjunction with Human Resources and create and maintain a positive work environment
- Administering other duties as required
What you bring:
- Postsecondary education within a related field or experience to supplement
- Several years of diverse experience with leadership responsibilities in the transportation industry required, with specific exposure to fuel and bulk commodities hauling
- Experience with Windowsbased programs; TMW experience is an asset
- Facilitating the effective utilization of people and equipment
- Knowledge of heavyduty truck maintenance and repairs an asset
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic, and confident with a roll up your sleeves attitude towards work
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- A solid business presence complimented by personal drive, resourcefulness, maturity, integrity, honesty, and sound business judgment
