Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position (Francophone stream)
The School of Social Work the Faculty of Education and Health at Laurentian University in Sudbury

of Assistant Professor in Social Work. The preferred start date is January 1, 2024.

  • Evidence of an active research program and scholarly expertise in some of the following areas:
social policy, ethics, Indigenous social work practice, mental health, gerontology, women's
- issues, direct intervention, theory and methods of interventions;

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (campus and/or
on-line) in French;

  • Experience mentoring and supporting graduate students and the ability to undertake thesis
supervision;

  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and an enthusiasm for contributing to
the governance of the school and University as a whole;

  • Clear commitment to research, pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe,
inclusive, and welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University's bilingual
- and tricultural mandates;

  • Ability and willingness to engage in dismantling antiindigenous and antiblack racism and other
oppressive practices that lead to social and health inequities.

  • Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves
over 8000 students and is one of two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario. Committed to its
