Reporting to the Production Manager (Fluid & Culture) this position resolves customer complaints regarding production. Controls inventories of raw material, processing aids, equipment, and report shortages to designated personnel. To be assigned as Night Shift Supervisor.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Train workers in SOP'S, sanitation, safety procedures etc.
  • Supervise and participate production and cleaning activities.
  • Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete disciplinary writeups.
  • Conduct the specified monitoring activities.
  • Ensure that equipment and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner;
  • Signing off on all equipment requiring preuse inspection and taking the necessary appropriate action for any deviations found;
  • Hold employees accountable for complying with all facility Health & Safety requirements and provincial regulations. Unsafe acts and conditions must be immediately addressed.
  • Provide appropriate instruction for safe work;
  • Advise workers of the existence of any potential or Health & Safety risks;
  • Communicate 1 safety talk per month and complete 1 safety investigation or safety evaluation each month;
  • Conduct daily inspection of work area;
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations, prepare necessary report and communicate to line Management, Health & Safety personnel and Health & Safety Committee member(s);
  • Ensure that all employees, including temporary workers and contractors, adhere to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Preferrable with diploma / bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, business administration, or related fields;
  • Minimum of a business diploma in accounting but a University degree in accounting is preferred;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience;
  • Proven organizational and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Saputo customer base and Dairy products industry an asset;
  • Ability to work without direct supervision;
  • Strong decisionmaking skills, with an emphasis on recommendation for change;
  • Must be proficient in current position.
