About the Role
Location: 4025 Sladeview Crescent, Mississauga
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
Summary:
Miura Canada Co., Ltd is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician. This position will be based out of our Mississauga Office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze water samples (400 samples per month) with mínimal requests for retesting.
- Maintain a 2week lead time for analyzing samples after receiving them in the Lab.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment including monthly accuracy/calibration checks.
- Perform all Specialty tests the same week the standard tests are completed.
- Replace parts in Water Purification System.
- Daily accuracy checks on spectrophotometer.
- Receive, scan, and track the quantity of water samples that are dropped off.
- Prepare clean bottles; affix or replace QR codes on sample bottles.
- Maintain a backup stock of minimum 400 clean sample bottles.
- Prepare and analyze product check samples from the Factory within 12 days of receiving the sample.
- Prepare and maintain reagents.
- Perform monthly inventory check on all lab supplies and chemicals.
- Organize and label chemical waste pails/containers.
- Upload lab data onto MIW.
- Communicate with specialists about any errors with sample bottle information
- Send lab reports to customers/specialists, as needed.
- Maintain and update SDS binders.
- Prepare, organize, ship, and receive Sample Boxes.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
About You
What makes you a perfect fit:
- Proven working experience as a lab assistant
- Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
- BS degree in Medical Technology, Biology or related field
- Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
- Accuracy and close attention to detail
- Strong analytical judgement
Salary:
$20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
