Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreational Programs and/or designate, the Summer Youth Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with creating long range, sustainable goals for the Oshawa Youth Council.
This position will liaise with the post-secondary institutions for input into the 2023 course collaboration for upcoming Teaching Cities projects.
Additional tasks will include developing the Oshawa Youth Council meeting calendar for upcoming year with corresponding calendar content, and liaising with other Youth agencies to ensure best practices and potential future project opportunities.

Requirements:
Job Requirements
Knowledge and skill generally associated with the completion minimum 2 years towards post-secondary education in any of the following fields Recreation and Leisure Studies, Youth Studies, Education or related field of study; or have an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Strong social media skills and proven record of success in promoting youth activities;
Experience with committees considered an asset;
Possess current Standard First Aid Certification with CPR 'C'.
Provide a current (within six months) Criminal Record Check
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
(International students are not eligible.)Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, marketing, administrative, business planning and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service experience communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff, external agencies, and the general public.
Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and able to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
