Become a connected Network Specialist**The Network Specialist manages eStruxture's networks and ensures they function efficiently by collecting performance data, monitoring its security, troubleshooting issues, anticipating problems, and performing routine maintenance. Working closely with internal and external customers, the Network Specialist responds promptly to all requests and provides constant, professional communications to stakeholders. Working in a 24/7/365 service provider environment, the Network Specialist takes ownership of the complete Data Center network stack and ensures the continuous availability and operation of eStruxture's network environment. Adhering to industry best practices and internal policies and procedures, the Network Specialist mitigates risk by securing and hardening eStruxture's network infrastructure against intrusion and attack.

Your contribution

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Troubleshooting

  • Responds to escalated support requests (internal and external customers)
  • Investigate and respond to reports of service degradation and network outages
  • Proactively monitor eStruxture's network environment for events
  • Install, configure and support all network elements
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 oncall rotation

Network Security

  • Manage and maintain eStruxture's network firewalls
  • Participate in network security assessment and testing
  • Identify, document, and remediate network vulnerabilities
  • Proactively patch and update network and operating systems
  • Collaborate with eStruxture's Cyber Security Analyst

Other Responsibilities

  • Design and provision external customer solutions as required
  • Participate in coaching and training of Level 1 and 2 support teams
  • Manage multiple, complex network projects to completion
  • Assist eStruxture's Product and Sales teams as required
  • Create and update accurate network documentation

Working Conditions


The role has standard working conditions in an office environment and remotely with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.

The incumbent must be willing to work outside of normal business hours when required and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call rotation.

Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

The role requires mínimal travel (15%) to support engagements within specified region.

The profile we are looking for
Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field is required, service provider experience is preferred
  • Handson experience working with Cisco, Juniper, and Ciena network equipment
  • Experience working with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls
  • Previous experience working with NMS platforms such as LibreNMS, SolarWinds, and OpenNMS
  • Handson experience working with vCenter, vMware, vSAN and ESXI environments
  • Project Management experience (PMP, Agile)
Education/Certification/Designation

  • College or bachelor's degree in Internet Communications Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent program
  • CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent networking certification
  • CIS
