About the role:

Parts Delivery Driver

The primary responsibility of the position is the delivery and pick up of parts for internal and external customers in a safe and timely basis, both in a professional and courteous manner.

This will include both local and out of town in the greater Toronto, Oshawa, London, and surrounding areas pickups and deliveries.

The Parts Delivery Driver will also assist with shop and inventory to support accuracy and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Parts Delivery and Pick Up

  • Deliver parts to external and internal customer locations in a timely and safe manner includes in and out of town deliveries in the greater Toronto, Oshawa, London, and surrounding areas.
  • Pick up parts at supplier locations includes in and out of town deliveries in the greater Toronto, Oshawa, London, and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure loads are always properly secured.
  • Maintain parts delivery truck to company standards with regular cleanings this includes daily disinfecting worksurfaces at the end of each day with supplied wipes and disinfect.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and other daily reports
  • Safely operating the company vehicle adhering to all safety requirements, obeying traffic laws and driving undistracted.
Warehouse Support

  • Warehouse support duties as assigned, which may include assisting customers, cycle counts, accurately checking in stock orders and stocking shelves, pulling orders, and keeping the warehouse clean.
Health and Safety

  • Is aware of the employee's responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures as set out in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and customers
  • Is alert to and promptly reports all actual and potentially hazardous situations to Parts Manager or Service Manager
  • Does not operate faulty equipment
  • Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by the task, MSDS or company policy
  • Promptly reports personal injury to your supervisor and seeks first aid as needed
  • Participates in fire and Occupational Health and Safety training and drills. Reports concerns
  • Strives to improve work processes to reduce risks
  • Knows the facility emergency evacuation plan
  • Adheres to COVID19 Safety practicing social distancing
Continuous Improvement

  • Work with Lean tools and techniques to identify and solve problems
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and procedures
  • Encourage suggestions and ideas for improvement from teammates
  • Work continuously to eliminate wastes to increase capacity and improve safety and productivity in the shop
  • Attend meetings and training after hours if required.
  • Working shift work, including weekends, when required
  • Other work as may be defined
DECISION-MAKING & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Operate company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Deal with customers in professional manner

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Parts department, delivery vehicle on city streets, highway, and customer locations
  • Inside and outside in all weather extremes, driving in typical traffic volumes for long hours
  • Climbing, bending, moving heavy loads more than 50 lbs using support
  • Attention to safe operation of vehicle in city traffic on all road conditions
  • Working to deadlines to complete tasks. Schedule deliveries to be as efficient as possible and deliver correct orders to correct locations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training

  • Grade 12 or equivalent with valid class G license
Skills and Experience

  • Good time management skills
  • Safe driving skills with a clean driving abstract
  • Good time management skills
  • Good knowledge of cities
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with customers
  • Basic parts knowledge
