Job Overview

Meaty Eats is a specialty retailer focusing on Fresh Organic Meats and Charcuterie as well as in house Prepared Foods.

We operate two locations in the GTA focusing on quality goods, curated product selection and customer experience.

As the owner of the culinary and foodservice operations, reporting to the Retail Operations Manager or similar, the Culinary and Food Service Manager will be responsible for implementing and delivering culinary and food service operations across our locations.

This will include all day to day management of culinary operations such as ordering, inventory, production management, staffing, design and delivery of food service and culinary programs, managing food safety and quality as well as maintenance functions.

Main Duties

Design and Deliver profitable Food Service and Culinary Operations in support of company goals and objectives at our cafe and retail stores prepared food sections
Hire and Manage Culinary and Retail Staff including Training
Order and Manage Inventory for Food Service and Culinary Applications
Manage Food Safety, Health and Safety, Quality Control processes, procedures, manuals programs and inspections for all food service operations
Assist in opening new locations and launching new operations, programs, functions
Use and maintain management information systems to report, manage, and complete work

Requirements:

Food Handling / Relevant / Culinary certificates / training
Chef or Hospitality Degree / Diploma
3+ years of experience in a similar position

Working Conditions

Culinary production kitchen environment and specialty retail food environment
Requirement to perform duties and support initiatives outside regular hours and weekends as required
