Job Summary

  • The Centre for Collaborative Clinical Learning & Research (C3LR) provides space and resources for experiential learning and research. The C3LR offers innovative educational opportunities for multihealth discipline, uniprofessional, and interprofessional education through simulation, interprofessional collaboration, and innovative pedagogies that lead to improved transition of graduates to their professional practice areas. In consultation and collaboration with faculty and staff, the Simulated Patient Educator (SPE) is a key leader with responsibility for developing, implementing, and evaluating pedagogicallysound simulation based curriculum and instructional design for health discipline programs, including external licensing exams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult and collaborate with faculty members to develop, implement, manage, and evaluate pedagogicallysound instructional support for medical and health profession curricula as required by programs.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and manage simulated participants and support staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and advance evidencebased best practice scholarship in simulation methodologies and curricular/instructional design (research and continuing
professional development).

  • Independently, or as part of a team, manage simulationbased educational projects originating from within or external to Dalhousie.
  • Collaborate with the C3LR Director and colleagues on efficient and effective management and promotion of programs, C3LR staff and facilities, and committees.
  • Responsible for a broad range of interactions with clients and serve as the key C3LR representative on major projects.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree focused on adult education, curriculum development, and/or health professions education, with five to seven years' of progressive experience in a related educational or curriculum development field (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Written and verbal communication skills and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, teambased, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, advocacy, and care for student learning.
