Position Summary
Reporting to the Agriculture Services Coordinator the Vegetation Management Technician is a seasonal
accordance with legislation and County policies.

Position Responsibilities
Safe operation of County vehicles and equipment such as pick up trucks, A TV/UTVs and trailers

by conditions.

Inspects County right of way and public lands for weed infestations.

Coordinates the pruning and removal of trees and shrubs on County lands as required.

Assists with extension events.

Provides public consultation on weed and pest control methods.

Maintains accurate records of weed and pest control areas, actions and referrals.

Maintains inventory of pesticide.

Maintains spray equipment.

Coordinates the maintenance of the pesticide container collection sites at County landfills.

Keeps informed on weed and pest identification and control methods.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Skills

Clean Class 5 Drivers License

Defensive driving completion

Completion of Grade 12 or if higher preferably in agriculture training

Standard First Aid and CPR

Good documentation skills

Strong communication skills

WHMIS completion

Physically fit
Working Environment

Work is conducted primarily outdoors in all weather

Physical exertion and extensive walking required

Public contact may be confrontational

Potential interaction with domestic animals and wildlife

Frequent use of pesticides
The wage range is $26.04 to $28.35 per hour. This is a seasonal position from approximately May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.
Position will be based out of Wildwood.
