Specialist Revenue Reporting - Calgary, Canada - Canadian Pacific
Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of the Revenue Reporting Specialist is to analyze and report on CPKC's revenues to ensure complete and accurate financial results for internal stakeholders and the investor community.
The role will work to further develop reports using SAP, BPC, or BI to aid in the analysis of year-over-year trends and their impact on internal and external commentary.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist with the accounting, analysis, and forecasting of other freight and nonfreight revenue
- Engage and support various business stakeholders in completing the reporting for revenues and related activities
- Develop and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting that illustrates yearoveryear demand, yield, and other key metrics
- Report weekly metrics on CPKC's external website
- Prepare external financial disclosures within the quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis and Annual Report
- Monitor data integrity to ensure consistent reporting
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and data maintenance to achieve business objectives that could be technical in nature
- Significant interaction with the business units to understand and articulate key drivers of change
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or related field
- 3+ years financial analysis and reporting experience
- Understanding of Marketing & Sales processes, company forecasting, and metrics
- Demonstrate capability to interpret a wide array of information and determine key messages to bridge the gap between analytics and business understanding
- ERP/SAP, BPC, BI, and Blackline experience an asset
- Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to investigate technical anomalies to drive clarity and resolve issues

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
