The Team:
Family Resource Network - Strathmore & Chestermere Commons

  • The Community Inhome Family Support services provides interventions and support to families and their children from ages 718 in Strathmore and surrounding rural areas.

The Role:
In-Home Family Support Worker (Full-time)

This position requires a flexible schedule as it may include some evenings and weekends to meet client needs


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and facilitate child, family and community activities and interventions to enhance child protective factors and reduce risk
  • Enhance family support networks, both formal and informal for diverse populations
  • Integrate different roles such as coach, mentor, support, advocate, resource person and facilitator
  • Support families during points of crisis
  • Enhance parental capacity by supporting and strengthening skill and knowledge in areas such as sensitive parenting, ages and stages, positive parenting practices etc.
  • Significant collection of outcomes data
  • Engage and build relationships with, and between, families, individuals, communities, schools, and other service providers

What You'll Bring to The Role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field (equivalencies will be considered)
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience working with children and families
  • Working knowledge of Child Development, Ages & Stages, Positive Parenting, Parental Sensitivity, Systems Theory and Attachment Theories, Grief and Loss, and Trauma Informed Care
  • Understanding of the child protection system and knowledge of local resources
  • Strong critical thinking, engagement, and assessment skills
  • Knowledge and experience with outcome measurement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Infant and Adult Mental Health and ability to structure programming accordingly
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and Drivers Abstract
  • Reliable vehicle as this position requires driving to meet family and client needs

Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to the Strathmore Family Resource Network Program Manager
