The Opportunity:

Working in collaboration with Sault College's Academic Upgrading program, this position will be responsible for the integration of services into the Better Jobs Ontario and Indigenous Skills for Success project initiatives by supporting targeted training to both indigenous and non-Indigenous underemployed or unemployed individuals seeking to enter training, apprenticeship and/or education to improve their employability.

The incumbent will oversee the planning, development, implementation and management of training and services that will be delivered in person and online, and will include assessment activities, development of individualized learner training plans, provision of learning and soft skills training, and developing/maintaining community organization and industry relationships.


What you need to be successful:

  • three-year diploma/degree or equivalent in Business, Project Management or Social Services
- minimum five years' practical experience in business, human resources, social services or related fields
- knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, worldviews and perspectives
- ability to multitask and work on numerous projects concurrently in a fast paced, student-centered environment
- excellent human relation and written/oral communication skills
- ability to be innovative and creative, exercising a high degree of judgement and decision-making skills
- flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, proven conflict resolution skills
- must have a valid driver's license and transportation or personal mobility to the degree normally associated with possession of a valid driver's license and transportation


This is an Initiatives/Opportunities support staff position, Payband H- $33.38- $38.75 (starting rate $33.38/hour), 35 hours/week required for 1 year.
