Job Summary
The OH&S Administrator supports safe work practices throughout DXP Canada relating to the implementation and oversite of the company's policies and practices for employee's safety at work.
- Collaborate with all managers to ensure that they are aware of Governmental Legislation, and Health and Safety Acts, and overseeing their access to this information
- Ensure that safe work practices are being followed through the maintenance of Occupational Health & Safety Administrative processes and programs
- Support in the review and revision of health and safety policies, procedures and forms
- May be required to support incident investigation and be readily available to assist Safety Manager as required
- Identify, analyze, compare and act hazard analysis trend information as seen from Incident Statistical Data reports and develop appropriate hazard mitigation response plans as necessary
- Engagement and tracking of Pre employment, Post Incident, Reasonable Cause
- Substance Screening for all personnel
- Track incidents (first aid, medical aid, etc.) including near miss reporting for company statistical data analysis
- Management & calculation of Health & Safety Data from incident occurrence
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual Statistic Incident Data reports for Sr. Executive management.
- Monitoring of safety inbox and prioritized responses to emergencies which may occur after hours, as directed on occasion.
- Assist with prequalifications for Health and annual Occupational Health & Safety Statistical Data
- Logistical coordinator for External COR & Internal Maintenance Audits
- Support auditing compliance and complete audits as assigned
- Collaborate with operations staff to ensure timely completion of monthly facility & shop inspections
- Promote a Safe and Healthy workplace through interaction with all operational staff, supervisors and support staff with emphasis on compliance monitoring and quarterly health & safety performance objectives.
- Data collection and entry to external databases (IS Net, ComplyWorks, Veriforce, Avetta).
- Provide oversite in the management of the Work Hub safety portal
- Coordinate and schedule preemployment testing as needed for new recruits.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of Occupational Health and Safety related experience required
- Strong working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and policy in jurisdictions across Canada
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications
- Proven ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships in a lead and a team member role
- Ability to influence and collaborate with management, staff, and contractors to achieve improved safety behaviors and culture in a nonconfrontational manner
