Commitment: 40 hours per week - must be able to work Saturdays and be available for rotational on-call duty as required in the collective agreement

Compensation:

As per the collective agreement this position is eligible for participation in health and welfare benefits and the defined contribution pension plan.

Starting annual salary (as per the collective agreement) $42,819.00 along with the opportunity to earn individual based bonuses. Increases as per the collective agreement.

***: Reporting to the General Manager, the Family Service Advisor provides counsel, education and support to visitors to the cemetery related to all at-need and/or pre-need sales of products and services. The Family Service Advisor is the primary contact for families in the planning of burial arrangements in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery and Holy Family Mausoleum.


SUMMARY OF DUTIES:


  • Counsel families during all atneed situations and to assist them in the selection of products and services, ensuring that the utmost care and respect is given to the family and their deceased relative.
  • Promote preneed arrangements in compliance with the Cemetery Act through discussions with families visiting the cemetery, the marketing of information and materials and through the building of clientele through networking and building of professional relationships.
  • Actively promote preplanning options to various cultural communities and/or associations and groups.
  • Plan, execute and report on activities that assist in the ongoing promotion of the Cemetery.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the cemetery in the planning of future capital improvements.
  • Research, investigate, evaluate and provide recommendations regarding current and new products and services to meet families requests and needs.
  • Effectively resolve customer concerns and/or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Accurately complete all required reporting forms, processes and administration tasks as required and/or assigned on a timely basis
  • Assist in the collection of delinquent accounts as required.
  • Promote and support coworkers to ensure the Cemetery provides exemplary service to all families and visitors through professional, timely and supportive interactions throughout the sale.
  • Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


  • Completion of a diploma/degree in a related field and/or equivalent direct professional sales experience.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain/maintain the minimum current requirements required to sell cemetery products and services in the province of Ontario.
  • Three years experience in a related field involving sales in a computerized environment and direct contact with the public.
  • Excellent and professional interpersonal skills both verbal and written. Proficient and tactful in managing communications with people in emotionally changed situations.
  • Expertise in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365 and other data management software programs.
  • Selfstarter with strong initiative. Able to function as part of a team as well as on own.
  • Proven ability to maintain organization in daytoday systems and procedures.
  • Current and valid Ontario motor vehicle license is required.
