Building Mechanical Controls Specialist

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Review contract documents and fully understand the scope of work.
  • Coordinate the design of the energy management system according to our contractual obligations.
  • In charge of writing the controls tender along with the construction team.
  • Approve control drawings (schematics, network, etc.).
  • Approve control shop drawings (sensors, motorized valves, starters, etc.).
  • Coordinate equipment purchases with the purchaser.
  • Use installation standards to ensure that subcontractors' bids and installations meet our requirements.
  • Supervise the quality and progress of work on site of controls subcontractors.
  • Establish detailed scope of work and test procedures to be followed during equipment commissioning, commissioning reports, balancing, and other trades.
  • Help establish the desired sequence of operations of mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment startups.
  • Commission projects. Ensure optimal system operation.
  • Analyze equipment operation at the end of the project and for the followup period.
  • Maintain and ensure quality control and minimize deficiencies in a project.
  • Participate in project energy monitoring meetings.
  • Assist subsidy team as needed.
  • Answer service calls and diagnose problems. Route calls to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Represent Kolostat/Krome and attend site meetings.
  • Manage project warranties, maintenance, and service.
  • All administrative tasks related to your position.
  • All other related tasks.

Profile and skills we are looking for

  • Degree in Building Systems Engineering or BA in Mechanical Engineering, or trade certificate as instrumentation and control technician, or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience.
  • Experience in installing HVAC/control systems.
  • Windows / Microsoft Office.
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Teamplayer.
