Description
MMIST is a provider of Precision Aerial Delivery products and services including the Sherpa family of GPS guided parafoils, Space Recovery Systems, and the self-launch capable SnowGoose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), along with mission planning tools, services, and support equipment.
We are looking for talented and entrepreneurial individuals to join our collaborative and fun teamResponsibilities
- Unpack, examine, assemble, and pack cargo parachutes.
- Follow standard procedures in performing basic packing tasks such as visually examining/inspecting the fabric and all equipment of the parachutes for serviceability, stowing canopy and suspension lines, installing reefing lines and cutters, and folding and packing various complex parachute assemblies.
- Perform technical, routine and instorage riggertype inspection on cargo parachutes as well as other airdrop equipment before, during and/or after each use.
- Perform general support maintenance on all parachutes, têxtile components and other air drop equipment.
- Examine, inspect, adjust, and align mechanical components to rigid specifications, and assembles and link numerous subsystems, requiring a knowledge of how those assemblies interjoin, and the ability to perform numerous precision procedures.
- Examine/inspect, test and install extraction and release systems. Uses and maintains machines and tools for fabrication, modification and repair of parachutes, and other airdrop equipment.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of parachute testing and nonstandard rigging
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English, including the ability to describe information, concepts and ideas and to convey instructions to others
- Ability to independently manage, organize, and complete work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines/priorities
- Must be able to read and understand diagrams and instructions from technical manuals and manufacturer's instructions
Education/Experience:
FAA Rigger Certification
Work is performed in a mixed office/prototyping environment
Travel may be required to other facilities, subcontractors or suppliers
