Job Title:
Library Assistant - Summer Student (8-week term)

Job Summary:
Working
under the direct supervision of the Head Librarian**:

Assist with programming activities:

Assist in providing tours of the library:


  • Assist at the circulation desk:
- **Other duties as required and assigned


Requirements:


  • Excellent reading skills
  • Excellent keyboarding/typing skills
  • Good rapport with diverse groups
  • Able to work evening and weekend shifts
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Current Vulnerable Sector criminal record check

Preferences:
Prior library work experience


Hours:37.5 hours/week including evening and weekend shifts as part of a staff

Start date:
As soon as possible


Wage:
$16.30/hour per CUPE Local #3077 Collective Agreement
