Founded in 1979, Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest boarding high school in Canada. During our 44 years of history, parents from over 120 countries have placed their children in CIC' care.


CIC offers the Total Care Education System to support students to achieve their goal of getting into a post-secondary institution of their choice.

Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.


Students at a younger age require a higher level of care and guidance to develop good study habits, strong character values and independent life skills.

While these young students are spending their formative years away from their parents' care, Columbia International College's Total Care Education staff are ready to step in and dedicate their hearts and minds to foster academic success and nurture personal growth in students in our Junior Grades.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating strong study skills to find academic success
  • Teaching students to plan their time effectively and to manage their daily schedule responsibly
  • Nurturing students to become wellrounded individuals with good character values
  • Assist with positive Work and study habits
  • Facilitate Dropin Study Groups
  • General progress checks on assignments
  • Checking Moodle/ eZreport for missed assignments
  • Communicate regularly with the Tutoring Coordinator on the progress of the students or any concerns
  • Complete tracking and documentation sheets for all Junior Grade Students

Qualifications:


  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Experience working with youth
  • Tutoring/education experience background preferred

Hours of Work:


  • Oncall
  • Flexibility with the hours is required.
  • In person
  • Location may vary between Ainsliewood building and residences
