The Role
Responsibilities:
- Prospecting, generating, qualifying, processing and following up on leads and appointment setting for the Director of Business Development Operations
- Collaboratively works with the events and marketing teams to develop lead generation strategies to generate lead opportunities.
- Provide support to Business Development Directors throughout the deal cycle.
- Schedule and host vendor meetings.
- Manage data room uploads for due diligence documents.
- Communicate deadlines to vendors and address questions regarding due diligence requests and the deal/transition process.
- Implement creative outreach tactics. Research potential leads from events, CE, business directories, web searches, digital resources to maximize prospecting and cold calling.
- Plan, coordinate and attend prospect engagement events and semiannual team events, as required.
- Initiates and participates in new business pitches with the Director of Business Development, in conjunction with the BD and Marketing teams
- Creates and maintains a database of prospects and deals in Salesforce CRM
- Actively contributes expertise, ideas and business intelligence to the team to help drive continuous improvement and business growth
- Review weekly CRM Salesforce reports and ensure accuracy
- Stay current on industry trends for possible opportunities to attract new leads
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in sales and/or business development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Postsecondary education would be an asset
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Intermediate level PC/software skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Knowledge of CRM database system and project management systems
- Adaptable, resilient and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
- Solution driven: motivated by challenging situations
- Able to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Comfortable in a fastpaced environment, and can manage competing priorities efficiently
- Organized and has the ability to work on different projects, follow up rigorously and communicate to different levels of the organization
- Comfortable being around pets
- Available to travel occasionally to support various events and meetings
- Veterinary industry experience (nice to have)
- Bilingual (an asset)
