The Business Development Strategic Advisor supports the Business Development (BD) leadership team and develop plans and business intelligence; monitor business plans and performance; set targets; identify opportunities to improve service delivery; and design and deliver business strategies and solutions aligned with the business architecture of various initiatives, including the organizational transformation and shift.

You will lead business development projects and strategic initiatives that are innovative and multi-focused.

You will lead and make recommendations on the planning and execution of a range of projects and initiatives requiring comprehensive analysis and understanding of the Group Benefits Insurance (GBI) marketplace.


Collaboration is critical, as the role requires leading and engaging key stakeholders from various areas working together to achieve the project and initiative objectives.


The proposed initiatives you develop, and lead will align with the key Desjardins behaviours - simple, people-focused, modern and high-performing - while looking to maximize the engagement of our clients, partners, members, and BD team.

General Information on the Position


Main responsibilities- Lead BD projects and initiatives from conception to execution in collaboration with partners across GBI and Desjardins- Advise the BD Leadership team and partners to help position, plan, develop, execute, and monitor strategic initiatives and priorities- Develop and update reporting, projections, best practices, and projects in support of the BD strategy- Identify, analyze, and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making forums- Represent BD on committees and in decision making- Develop learning curriculum and execute on plan in support of advancing the BD team positioning, with an emphasis on visibility and marketing.


Additional responsibilities- Conduct data analysis and evaluate and measure the success of targeted initiatives, develop case studies, provide recommendation for future initiatives- Actively participate in key GBI projects, including, but not limited to Business Development- Understand and anticipate industry trends and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the development of best practices for the company.

Other working conditions- Workplace: Position located in Toronto or Montreal, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work #LI-Hybrid- Travel: 20% for meetings- Number of jobs available: 1


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, actuarial or in a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered- For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledge- Knowledge of Group Benefit experience- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (english)-speaking partners, members and/or clients
