We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated
Site Superintendent (SS) to join our team.


As a
Site Superintendent (SS) and a member of the team, you will be responsible for the managing all aspects of construction projects and resources from the job site, from their initial mobilization through to completion.

The Site Superintendent leads the safety of the site team, manages all logistics, the quality of work and site communication with our clients.


This role supports and may work for company affiliates and subsidiaries within the KC Group of Companies, as requested and/or required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
  • Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project
**Safety

  • Manage and supervise compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and best practices onsite to meet or exceed all WorkSafe BC regulations and requirements
  • Stop unsafe work or any work that does not meet our requirements and standards
  • Ensure/run daily safety meetings and site inspections
  • Actively contribute to the Joint Health and Safety Committee
**Project Oversight

  • Manage the successful planning, management, and completion of multiple projects on time, on budget through strong collaboration and communication
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, staff, consultants, subcontractors and clients to establish and run the scope of work, project budgets, labour, and schedules to ensure that all milestone and completion dates are met
  • Source, organize and manage construction supplies
  • Liaise & coordinate with municipal building inspectors
  • Daily review of all tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
  • Manage all rental equipment on site
  • Ensure the site is safe and secure at the end of each shift
  • As necessary, perform routine construction tasks to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget
**Communication & Documentation

  • Ensure communication and updates between the site and the office
  • Ensure daily work logs are completed and employee work hours are approved
  • Manage all documentation required to meet the requirements of construction and trade contracts
  • Ensure all necessary building, trade and occupancy permits are obtained
  • Establish deficiency lists and manage labourers, suppliers, consultants, and trade contractors to ensure any deficiencies and defects in construction are fully remedied in an efficient & expedited manner
  • Assist in obtaining & assembling all closeout documents and tasks
**Reporting

  • Meet weekly, and as needed with the General Superintendent to report on project progress, successes, and challenges
**Lead And Mentor

  • Manage and mentor team members to excel both personally and professionally
  • Provide regular and ongoing performance feedback and guidance
Other duties, as required


Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of site management experience in commercial, institutional, and civil construction
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to positively motivate others
  • General knowledge and familiarity with standard construction contracts and contractual terms and practices
  • Strong working knowledge with MS Project, Office, and construction management, accounting and estimating software
  • Proven experience successfully collaborating with and managing consultants, subtrades & inhouse staff to meet their objectives
