Job Title:
Work Experience Placement Coordinator - Hospitality Management Program
Main Responsibilities:
- Secure and coordinate placements for students as part of their Work Experience in the Hospitality industry.
- Conduct visits with employers and potential employers in the Hospitality industry across Greater Vancouver; monitor, evaluate students' work and assist students in developing career related skills. This position will be work closely to the faculty members, students and employer community, and will be responsible for the preparation, and placement of the students, job development, advising, promotion and liaison with the students and the employers.
- Maintain and build relationships with a network of resource people in the Hospitality Industry. This position may be required to travel across Greater Vancouver to promote the Hospitality Programs at WCC in the employer community.
- Participate in committees, education and career fairs to promote the Hospitality Programs at WCC in the community.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related.
- 23 years of related work experience in a postsecondary environment and in the Hospitality Industry in BC.
Required Skills:
- Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and Networking Skills.
- Excellent Organizational skills.
- Excellent team building skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team.
- Experience working with students
- Demonstrated career planning skills
- Knowledge and awareness of discipline specific labor market conditions and trends.
Location:
Surrey Campus
Annual Salary:
$52,000 - $55,000
