Overview:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will maintain operations of the pit on a day to day basis.

Reporting to the Aggregates Production Lead Hand, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to inspect, maintain and operate a wheel loader, excavator, dozer and or 40-ton articulated haul trucks and will be required to assist with labour and servicing activities as a part of the crushing/pit crew.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment.
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist.
  • Responsible for maintaining and inspecting equipment to ensure good working order and document conditions found prior to shift operation.
  • Monitor material production within specifications.
  • Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Seek out and implement Best Practices.

Specific Accountabilities:


  • Communicate information with Crusher Foreman.
  • Ensure safety goals are achieved.
  • Work cooperatively with all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and works well in a team environment.
