Position description:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the entire finance function of the company. The primary duties include organizing, evaluating reporting systems in place, and creating and implementing financial procedures for the company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate and complete set of financial books for the Company and any of its related entities.
  • Process Accounts Payable requests and reconcile Vendor accounts accordingly.
  • Issue invoices to customers and reconcile customer accounts accordingly.
  • Followup with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Appropriately file and store source documents including, but not limited to bills, receipts, statements, and other types of source's documents.
  • Calculate and process payroll accordingly. Ensure payroll deductions are accurate and remitted to CRA on time, as well as ensuring all applicable filings (e.g., T4, T4A, etc.) are performed accurately and on time.
  • Perform Bank and CC reconciliations at the end of each month to ensure financial statements properly reflect bank and CC activity.
  • Prepare IBANs for overseas payments.
  • Generate financial reports for Management on an asneed basis.
  • Calculate, file, and remit any Sales Tax that is owed in a filing period (e.g., HST, GST, etc.)
  • Frequently monitor cash flow and advise Management as to the liquidity of the Company.

Qualifications

  • University degree or College Diploma in Accounting from a recognized Canadian Post-Secondary
  • Holds a Chartered Professional Accountant ("CPA") Designation and is in good standing with CPA Ontario.
  • Minimum of 57 years of work experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager with a specialization in financial and managerial accounting, working at a CPA firm considered an asset.
  • Experience in the Construction or Manufacturing industries are considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in systems like Excel, Power BI, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online or any other Accounting Software is considered a requirement.
  • Proficient in Data Analytics and the ability to create graphs and charts with financial information, as well as interpret them.
  • Experience in a leadership position and is able to be a "team player" by creating a positive and proactive work environment with work colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills and is able to communicate and articulate requests and responses to both internal and external parties in a timely fashion.
  • Can work in a dynamic, complex, fastpaced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes.
  • Selfmotivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
