Production Supervisor:
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Works in the Crating/Shipping area:
- Assembles and disassembles plant growth and environmental rooms
- Reads engineering drawings, blue prints, shop drawings
- Operates various tools including manual, power and air tools including air nailers and power saws (excluding table saw)
- Measures materials and builds bases and crates for shipping product safely and economically
- Accurately picks and packages items for shipment as per the shipping picklist
- Validates crating accuracy to shipping picklist
- Prepares product for shipping including labeling, correcting any minor defects that have occurred during the manufacturing process, labeling of components and blocking
- Loads containers and trailers for shipping to national and international locations
- Operates forklift as required
- Provides training to other employees
- Other duties as assigned
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Able to perform above duties with mínimal additional training.
- Able to deliver a high volume of output accurately and with mínimal supervision
- Understanding of crossborder shipping requirements is considered an asset
- Detailoriented, highly organized and conscientious in work activities, especially recordkeeping and time management.
- Experience operating forklift and material handling.
- Able to move and lift materials and assemblies of various sizes and weights up to 50 lbs,
- Bend, reach and twist, occasionally climb stepladders, and remain standing for up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
