Over 80 physicians and specialists, alongside a broad roster of complementary health care disciplines, provide health and lifestyle management services on site and by video consult for individuals, families and organizations.

Our team of 700+ staff see clients virtually and physically from our downtown Toronto and Oakville clinics.


The Role:

The accountabilities:

  • Conduct Sub-Maximal VO2 tests using the Bruce Protocol
  • Proficiency in using a treadmill or cycle ergometer
  • Administering efficient Resting ECG Tests
  • Measure pre and post exercise BPs
  • Conduct InBody testing
  • Conduct Muscle and Joint Fitness testing
  • Conduct Anthropometric measurements (height, waist, hips and weight)
  • Update results from the above testing to generate reports for each patient
  • Provide clients recommendations and corrective exercises based on results
  • Monitor and facilitate the flow of patients through the Clinic
  • Be an ongoing point of contact for any client that has specific questions based on their report
  • Coordinate with other clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service and value time to our clients

Body Testing:

  • The InBody body composition machine uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology to measure the clients body composition. This equipment is a state of the art BIA body composition testing machine. It gives metrics such as body fat %, muscle mass, visceral fat mass, hydration levels. The printout reports break down lean body mass and body fat mass via specific segments within the body as well. The tester would interpret these results for the client and explain where the client falls in the 'normal range' for the age and gender._

Joint Fitness Testing:
_

  • Testing client's overall muscle and joint health with a series of specific movement screens for:
  • Shoulder and lower body mobility
  • Upper and Lower body functional strength
  • Core strength and endurance

The Requirements:

  • Must hold a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP or related) or Registered Kinesiologist (R. Kin) designation
  • One or more of: Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences, Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion (or related), is an asset
  • Prior experience conducting graded exercise testing
  • 2+ years prior healthcare experience
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Strong organization and time management
This is a casual position that is primarily required for _occasional Saturdays and/or weekday shifts_. The role reports to the Team Lead, Sub VO2 Max/Fitness and is part of a team of 20 members.


There is a potential extended opportunity to work within Medcan's Child and Youth Clinic performing various assessments on children aged 5-17.

These tests range from vertical jump, to grip strength, to a cardiovascular assessment.
