Description
OverviewActs as part of an interdisciplinary team, facilitating patient flow through the Hemodialysis Unit.
This involves booking appointments, registration, file management, orientation of the patient/family to the unit, data collection and procurement of supplies.
Education- Grade 12 or equivalent, postsecondary education preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Public Relations/customer service training preferred.
- Successful completion of Cerner training.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely fast paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and proven organizational skills.
- Proven innovation in problem solving skills and critical thinking.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with coworkers, other disciplines, other departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instruction/direction and changes.
- Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory.
- Expert with Plexxus SAP-SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, terminology and equipment related to hemodialysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide family centered care.
- Good work and attendance record required.
