POSITION:
UNIT CLERK I - Inpatient Surgical Unit

As the primary contact person, the Unit Clerk I coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with patients, visitors and healthcare professions.

In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities.

REPORTS TO:
Manager, Surgical Inpatients

DATE REQUIRED:
As soon as possible

SALARY:
$24.35 to $25.84 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Grade 12 Education
Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum one year experience in a health care setting preferred

ABILITIES:

Medical terminology
Well developed verbal and written communication skills
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, multitask and be flexible
Ability to work independently or sidebyside with other members of the healthcare team and interact professionally with peers, patients and other departments
