About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of Upstream Category Management the Category Advisor will be responsible for the end-to-end Category Management of the Health and Safety Services Portfolios.
Activities include creation of the category strategy, driving strategic sourcing initiatives and commercial/contractual negotiation of complex vendor engagements in support of Well Delivery, Projects, Upstream and Downstream Operations.
This fast-paced and exciting position is ideal for a self-starter with strong Category Management knowledge and sourcing skills.Responsibilities:
- Develop annual & longterm strategic planning to secure supply of goods and services for the Health, Safety and Emergency Services portfolios across Cenovus.
- Complete planning and budgeting to secure supply of goods and services and handle the associated price and supply risks.
- Lead complex and sourcing initiatives, develop associated negotiation strategies and recommendations to award.
- Review, interpret, and analyze legal and commercial contract terms and conditions including master agreements, schedules, statements of work, confidentiality agreements and other documentation, partnering with Legal as required.
- Ensure Cenovus is conducting business with financially viable, technically qualified suppliers, who operate within their expertise.
- Lead commercial negotiations with vendors ensuring goods and services are contracted in an efficient, effective manner bringing maximum value to the organization.
- Ensure compliance to Supply Chain Business Rules, approved SCM channels, the Cenovus Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, company policies, standards, processes and regulatory requirements.
- Complete administrative tasks required to handle contracts in the portfolio.
- Ensure data and information built is maintained, accurate and accessible.
Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Completion of a postsecondary degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive strategic sourcing and Supply Chain experience is required.
- Proven negotiation skills, both commercial and contractual.
- Sourcing expertise with planning, assessing and implementing outsourcing and other delivery models.
- Strong understanding of Category Management principles.
- Enterprisewide, strategic problem solver.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to solve problems through honest analysis coupled with good judgment; initiative and decisionmaking abilities.
- Excellent presentation skills; able to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings with all levels of the organization.
The following will be considered an asset:
- SCMP designation considered an asset
- Knowledge of SAP and Ariba Sourcing considered an asset.
