Job Summary


The Procurement Specialist will work within the procurement and vendor management processes at MMIST and play a key role in assisting in the procurement function.

They will assist by working with multiple internal and external stakeholders including, project managers, production, engineering and MMIST leadership, vendors, suppliers and or other third-party service providers to manage MMIST's supply requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions.
  • Developing new sources of supply.
  • Preparing bid specifications and issuing RFQs.
  • Communicating purchasing requirements internally and with suppliers.
  • Receiving and reviewing quotations.
  • General interfacing with suppliers and internal functions.
  • Assist in maintaining Line of Balance (LOB) requirements with the supply base and identify risks early.
  • Assist in the development, negotiation, and administration purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers in support of organizational requirements including legal compliance on contract negotiations.
  • Review purchase orders and ensure that they are in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and review price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
  • Assist in formal costing reviews, including obsolescence identification.
  • Identify cost reductions and recommend ways to reduce costs.
  • Assist in the development contract terms with vendors, including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of goods ordered and received.
  • Crosstraining on specific logistics tasks.

Education & Experience:


  • College degree in related field or high school diploma with 4+ years related experience.
  • Certification with APICS/ASCM in Purchasing/Procurement is desirable.
  • 2+ years experience in procurement related to electronic equipment.
  • 2+ Experience working with an ERP System.
  • 2 + years experience in supply chain management.
  • 1 + years experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 is an asset.


This position is a full-time position at our Ottawa facility and offers a competitive salary and benefits package based on experience.
