Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in the City of Toronto.

Position:
LRV Operator


Reports to:
Operations and Maintenance Manager


Role Location:
Toronto, ON


Summary of Position:


  • Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Manger, the LRV Operator will operate the LRV
along completed section of track - in both manual and CBTC guided modes. This operation can
range from burn in running to performing various test scenarios.


Responsibilities

  • Input into Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Input into determining ride quality, discovery of issues (track or LRV related) and feedback to

- necessary maintenance personnel
  • As senior LRV operator some onthejob training of more junior operators may be necessary
including review and enforcement of various Safety and Operations protocols


Requirements:


  • 10+ years in a comparable position, operating streetcars or LRV along a semiexclusive guideway
  • Full familiarity with various Standard Operating Procedures including understanding of why
- various constraints and restrictions are applied
  • Knowledge and physical ability to manually operate a rail switch
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of CBTC in its operation of LRV would be a strong asset
