Description

The HR Generalist will provide support to the company through the development and management of policies and procedures and will provide direct support for Employee Relations, Benefits Management, and a variety of assigned programs and projects.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance, counsel, direction, advice and coaching to management and employees on HR and employee relations matters (including leaves of absence, attendance matters, performance matters, temporary relocations, modified work arrangements, terminations, etc.)
  • Ensure the company's HR policies are uptodate and in compliance with all relevant legislation; provide advice and guidance to managers on the implementation and interpretation of HR policies and processes.
  • Administer all Canadian, US, Australian, and United Kingdom employee benefits programs with respect to evaluations of industry standards and benchmarking, distributing benefit material, reconciling employee benefit billing, investigating and responding to employees' queries and supporting benefit plan renewal recommendations and negotiations.
  • Ensure the HRIS and other HR systems (i.e., New Hire/Exit Survey system, Policies system, Engagement Survey system, etc.) are accurate, optimized and support the optimization of other systems.
  • Manage the production of statistical reports and metrics concerning employeerelated data such as turnover, performance appraisals, and other demographics; escalates emerging issues/themes with a focus on using data to drive problem solving and decision making.
  • Administer and support programs related to compensation, role changes, and annual performance reviews. Providing guidance and assistance to leadership in determining appropriate adjustments. Preparing communication materials and ensuring payroll accuracy for changes.
  • Support Work Visa process, with ability to research and coordinate with consultants for unknown variables.

Education & Experience

  • University or College Degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources.
  • CHRL designation or working towards CHRL designation preferred.
  • Experience writing and implementing policies and HR processes in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act.
  • Familiar with U.S. employment practices is an asset and strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with online group benefits administration is strongly desired.
  • Previous experience working with UKG or another HRIS system is preferred.

  • Proven track record handling a wide variety of employee relations issues with diplomacy, tact and integrity.
  • Able to research and write HR policies in easytounderstand language.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to support, influence, recommend and resolve sensitive and confidential matters; ability to listen to hidden context, facilitate and persuade without manipulation and able to adjust style to make others feel at ease.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask whilst maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Sound business judgment.
