    The Director, Customer Center of Excellence is accountable and responsible to lead and grow all project management, project financial performance, and client focused aspects of the Telecon Infrastructure and Desgin groups for Western Canada Region (SK, AB and BC) from sales, to operations, financial control and human capital, within a matrixed organization.

    Telecon's Infrastructure and Design Engineering Business Unit provides turnkey construction, engineering and design solutions for many telecommunication clients across North America, ensuring that customers' needs for fast, reliable networks are met. Telecon design creates the plans to deploy cutting-edge cables from a central hub to homes, multi dwelling units, businesses, and transit, both indoor and out. Wireline and wireless networks are converging and Telecon is designing for the future. 5G networks will bring about transformational changes, from tower engineering, to rooftop, the backyards, where wireless sites will meet fiber points. Telecon Design wants to be the transformational leader that addresses the telecommunications challenges of today's global marketplace.

    The successful candidate will be accountable for overseeing and managing operational execution for all Western-based projects and client relationships as they relate to business objectives, business development, client relationships, strategic planning, and P&L administration and analytics.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to customer decisions regarding where to deploy and manage telecommunication infrastructure and deploy capital. In conjunction with the Vice President, Infrastructure West and the Sr. Director of Engineering, is responsible to develop and implement an overall project management, revenue realization, and business analytics strategy. Relevant industry knowledge will be an asset with expertise in the Canadian Telecommunication market with wireline networks design.

    Responsibilities

  • Commit and instill the highest standards of Health & Safety for all employees and partners
  • Develop and execute on regional business initiatives aligned with the organizational strategy, in collaboration with the Regional Vice President, Engineering Canada
  • Lead with full accountability and responsibility of the day-to-day leadership of the organization including customer relations, health & safety, financial reporting, operations and project management
  • Focus on driving company performance and increasing opportunities to leverage and grow the business
  • Plans, organizes and directs respective region's operations to achieve profitability targets and overall corporate objectives
  • Develop and manage an annual business plan and prepare a strategic plan for the region
  • Understand market conditions and positions the division to take advantage of a variety of opportunities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a system of financial and non-financial performance measures
  • Monitor and review performance and regularly report on the performance of the region
  • Maintain required communications to optimize results with partners, project managers, suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Lead and participate in the tender process while ensuring the optimization of margins
  • Lead the sales efforts through the organization with the clients in Canada
    Ensure that resources and plans are appropriately managed to meet business objectives
  • Develop, coach and mobilize employees in the region, while identifying and ensuring on-going development of key talent and required successors for key positions
  • Develop the appropriate governance rhythms in place with various groups of stakeholders
  • Act as a change agent and an ambassador of the Telecon's Identity
  • Assist with risk evaluation, management and controls
  • Oversee the contract negotiations as required to ensure profitability expectations are met
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • PMP Certification considered an asset
  • Professional designation in Engineering (P.Eng) considered an asset
  • 12 to 15 years of relevant industry experience with a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in leading business operations at a regional level with direct P&L responsibility
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Cableco and Telecom sectors, with a strong understanding of market requirements and experience in market penetration
  • Exceptional experience in executing and driving growth by using a sustained strategic focus, discipline and process orientation
  • Highly effective communicator and proven manager of change
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sub-contractors and other relevant
