WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

As a member of the Sobeys Stadium department, the Events Coordinator, Sobeys Stadium is responsible for assisting with the coordination and execution of events at Sobeys Stadium. This position will report directly to the Events Manager, Sobeys Stadium.

:


  • Coordinate the planning and executions of all events at

Sobeys Stadium:
National Bank Open, York University convocation, York University exams, the Bowl Concert Series, and other ancillary events as scheduled;

  • Work with the Events Manager, Sobeys Stadium to development administrative documents and event processes;
  • Work with the stadium team to oversee the event calendar for venue conversions, assisting with planning, logistic movement and operations to ensure seamless transitions between tennis, concerts and other ancillary events;
  • Liaise with internal departments, such as security, catering, IT to distribute up to date event plans and information to ensure as the venue, we are delivering to the client;
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with promoters, vendors, contractors and suppliers;
  • Assist with the event support staff, overseeing availability, scheduling and deployment during events;
  • Assist with the execution of:
  • Site plans and room layouts, signage/signshop, wayfinding, furnishings, décor, plants and landscaping, security and emergency response, ambulance and first aid, audio visual, CCTV, corporate partnerships implementations, accreditation, radios, sustainability programming, budgeting and expense tracking
  • Assist with the management of:
  • Building keys, security cameras, parking passes, utility tracking, mail services, office furnishings, office supplies, kitchen supplies, sustainability initiatives

WHO YOU ARE

:


  • 1 to 3 years of experience in event operations, major sporting events or similar role
  • Postsecondary degree or college diploma in a related field or equivalent experience in the field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Confident and effective communication skills
  • Demonstratives initiative, willingness to listen and has an openness to feedback
  • Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments
  • Experience in customer service is an asset
  • Must be capable to deliver in a fastpaced environment results oriented
  • Ability to work with tight schedules during special events
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)

WORKING CONDITIONS

:


  • Work term is from April 3rd
  • October 31st, with potential for extension
  • This position may require evening amd weekend shifts, long physical days, working outdoors, and specific, safety training.
