Why is this role important?

  • In this role you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Physician Team, Data Management and Operations, Health Human Resources department. As a coop student you will be involved in a variety of activities that support priority projects for our department, that help drive CIHI's overall mandate to deliver on better data, better decisions, for healthier Canadians. This unique opportunity will expose you to areas of data processing, data quality and basic analytical functions.
  • What you'll do
  • Main responsibility will be migrating SAS/pseudocode programs to Python. These programs verify and validate raw data submitted to the Physician team. The responsibility includes clear documentation of the new Python process for future use.
  • Other duties may include data verification, data quality initiatives and supporting the administrative and technical needs of the Physician Team and other HHR project teams as directed
What you'll bring to the table

  • Experience working with SQL and/or SAS and Python
  • Experience working with data and data quality/quality assurance processes
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders both verbally and written
  • Initiative driven and gogetter attitude
  • Experience with basic statistics and a general understanding of management information systems in health care would be an asset
