Description

An ILI Field Technician is responsible for building, testing, and setup of the ILI tool and support equipment under the direction of the Field Superintendent.

They will also assist and provide support of the field execution and post run reports of the in-line inspection. This position requires extensive travel throughout Canada, also some travel to the US should be expected. This position reports to the Operations Manager. The home base for this position is Leduc, AB.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Ensure safety is put first in the execution of all tasks and processes
Follow documented processes and procedures to build and prepare in line inspection tools and support equipment
Assist in prepping, launching, and receiving of in line inspection tools
Clean, refurbish, and maintain in line inspection tool after the completion of a job
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required

- _Training will be provided_

Responsible for the transportation of the in line inspection tool and equipment to job site within Canada and the USA.
Accurately complete electronic and/or hardcopy job related documents
Prepare expense reports for them to be reimbursed in a timely manner
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

Capable of using mechanical drawings and procedures to rebuild mechanical assemblies
Proficient in of Microsoft Suite (exec, word, outlook, share point, etc.)
Possess strong communication skills
Comfortable working alone and as a team depending on the job requirements.
Oil/Gas and Pipeline experience preferred.

Ability and drive to progress through Tool Operator Levels described in ANST Personnel Qualifications and Certifications for In-Line Inspection Technologies.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

High School or equivalent.

Preferred 2year College and/or Technical Electronic Degree
Provide a Drivers Abstract with proof of valid Canadian driving license (class 5 or greater) with clean driving record.
Pass a preemployment drug/alcohol screen. (Required as a condition of employment)
Must be willing to submit to a background check. (Required as a condition of employment)

(A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed)

Passport or ability to obtain one in 6 months.
Field work may require long work days including early morning start and late evening finish.
Ability to routinely lift and carry 25kg/50 lbs.
Ability to wear a respirator (this would require being clean shaven as needed)
Normally will work in shop and field which can include extreme weather conditions
80% Travel within Canada, ability to travel internationally to the USA may be required.
