Reporting to the Director, People and Talent Operations, the Manager, People is an integral member of the People & Culture Leadership team.

They play a key role in the effective development and implementation of divisional strategies that positively impact employee experiences and organizational results.

This position oversees two teams of highly qualified HR professionals including Talent Acquisition professionals and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP's).

These teams support people leaders in identifying, developing, and implementing solutions across a range of HR functions for the college including talent acquisition, workforce planning and organizational design, performance management, labour and employee relations, and workplace health and wellness.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Actively seek out ways to carry out NorQuest's commitments to inclusion by evolving approaches and processes in ways that meaningfully advance equity.
  • Understand the human resources needs of the organization and help support strong business outcomes through the development and implementation of strategic and integrated human resource practices.
  • Provide seniorlevel guidance and support in all areas of labour relations such as interpretation of collective agreements, managing grievance and arbitration processes, and the collective bargaining process.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of HR professionals in all areas of human resources partnership to seek out win/win solutions.
  • Manage the work of two teams to ensure high quality service delivery is achieved through ongoing monitoring and optimization of HR process and practices.
  • Lead the HRBP team in partnering with their clients in developing and executing action plans in response to feedback and data provided through results from employee experience surveys.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure human resources systems and processes are planned for, developed, implemented, and streamlined.
  • Lead human resource related projects and process improvements while ensuring best practices and emerging trends drive our approaches.
  • Collaboratively drive results associated with managing budgets, managing organizational risks and developing and leading the successful execution of business plans.
  • Support the Director in a variety of areas including reporting, research, analysis and strategic planning.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree in business or a human resources focused discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
  • A significant number of years of experience working in all facets of Human Resources with significant focus in the areas of employee and labour relations and talent acquisition.
  • Several years of management experience in a similar position leading a team of HR professionals.
  • Experience working within a postsecondary or public organization is strongly preferred.

SALARY:
$109,575 - $136,997 depending on what you bring AKA your experiences and education. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great benefits and pension programs
