We are seeking a Manager, People and Culture responsible for the strategic HR functions that support organizational objectives and achieve overall business goals.

The role will oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, talent development, performance management, policy development, succession planning, compensation & benefits and employee relations.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Through a welldefined People & Culture strategic plan, proactively drive the talent agenda to best support our growth and strategic ambitions as well as defining and delivering our employee experience strategy
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure that human resources policies, practices and programs are competitive and aligned with company vision, mission, values and strategic plan
  • In collaboration with the management team, establish recruitment needs and ensure the development and implementation of talent attraction strategies
  • In partnership with the leadership team, the Manager, People & Culture will gather and understand staff input and create actionable steps to further improve our culture, creating an environment that fosters continual learning and staff who are engaged and energized by the work they do
  • Build trust with employees and be an active listener and coach employees and managers through solving a variety of people issues
  • Support managers to enhance team performance including performance appraisal, feedback, coaching, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Support managers in managing the performance of their teams, and ensure that development plans and assessment tools reflect best practices and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Administer company training program: assist in identifying training needs, coordinate training requests internally and with suppliers; compile presence registers and training feedback reports
  • Collaborate with the company's finance department on the transactional elements of human resources, including payroll, compensation and benefit administration
  • Manage employee welfare, safety, wellness and health benefits and programs including the development and implementation of policy documents and handbooks.
  • Ensure proper employee onboarding and offboarding is completed
  • Get involved in the HR industry

Ideally You'll Have:

  • Bachelors' degree in Human Resources
  • Member of the Order of Certified Human Resources Advisors (CHRP or CRIA) is a bonus
  • Experience in the field of retail / wholesale / apparel is a bonus
  • Minimum five (5) years of human resources experience (experience as a manager, an asset)
  • Very good knowledge of different office software (Microsoft Office suite);
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now an asset
  • Autonomy and great at managing personal and team priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate different scenarios effectively by keeping critical objectives as a priority
  • Mobilizing leadership and demonstrated ability to understand, achieve and influence change
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make decisions effectively
  • Superior skills in planning, organizing and improving processes
  • Person with indisputable ethics and personal integrity
