Field Coordinator / Administrator
Reporting to the General Manager, the Field Coordinator will be responsible to follow initiatives in the local units of Sept-Îles and/or Port-Cartier to reduce risks to the environment, health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out administrative paper work according to the expectations of the Health & safety requirements
- Assist in conducting internal investigations and follow up protocols to ensure proper documentation is completed
- Assist in the management of occupational health and safety files and reports
- Assist in the management of field investigations and assists in resolution
- Assist in the preparation of investigation reports and corrective actions
- Promote a culture of healthy occupational health and safety needs
- Support and followup of the coaching of the local team as it relates to health and safety
- Communicate internally with staff, supervisors and front line workers
- Report and work through incidences on a daily basis, while taking leadership guidance from the General manager
- Dotted line reporting to the Risk, Health and Safety Center of Excellence team
- Enforce company and client policies and procedures
- Provide occupational health and safety training and other programs
Qualifications:
- Some understanding of the concepts of Health and Safety in an operation
- Required fluency in both written and spoken French
- Bilingualism in spoken / written English would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively understand and compile information
- Working knowledge of the MS office suite products like excel, work, outlook, teams, powerpoint at the very least
- Selfstarter attitude, with willingness to learn new things
- Ability to function in a agile / changing environment and be flexible and adaptable to change
- Experience and any certification in Health and Safety or Food Safety would be considered an asset
- Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel to different sites on a weekly basis
