Position Summary
Reporting to the Agriculture Services Coordinator the Weed Inspector is a seasonal field position primarily
responsible for performing weed inspections on private and public lands in accordance with the Weed
Control Act and County policies.

Position Responsibilities
Safe operation of County vehicles and equipment such as pick up trucks, ATV/UTVs and trailers.

Assists with agricultural pest inspections.

Assists with extension events.

Assists with weed control on County lands.

Inspects private, industrial and municipal lands for weed infestation advising landowners of
weed problems and potential control methods.

Conducts re-inspections of weed problem areas.

Develops weekly and daily inspection plans and contacts landowners regarding plans.

Completes weed inspection reports and detailed weed infestation maps as required.

Keeps informed on weed identification and control methods.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Skills

Clean Class 5 Drivers License

Defensive driving completion

Completion of Grade 10 or higher

Standard First Aid and CPR

Good documentation skills

WHMIS completion

Physically fit
Working Environment

Work is conducted primarily outdoors in all weather

Physical exertion and extensive walking required

Public contact may be confrontational

Potential interaction with domestic animals and wildlife
The wage range is $22.26 to $24.24 per hour. This is a seasonal position from approximately May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.
Position will be based out of Wildwood.
