Access to Care (ATC) at Ontario Health (OH) is composed of information management and information technology initiatives (IM/IT) with a single strategic focus to improve access, quality and efficiency of patient care.

Within the Access to Care portfolio, the Implementation team works closely with the other areas within Service Delivery & Management team to deploy and maintain healthcare information management solutions and ensure solid client relationships throughout the support lifecycle.

The Team Lead, Provincial Implementations role holds a significant responsibility in the management and delivery of project activities. They are responsible for overseeing the effective planning and delivery of multiple medium to large-scale, complex projects. This person is accountable for the successful implementation of ATC projects implemented in collaboration with hospitals across the province.


The Team Lead manages a team of Implementation Leads to ensure stakeholder success in meeting requirements of implementation initiatives, including monitoring hospital progress against milestones, reporting of issues, identifying corrective measures and providing general business and project guidance.

The Team Lead is responsible for setting expectations; allocating work; overseeing and ensuring the quality of outputs; scheduling and prioritizing workloads, while also providing coaching, mentorship and development opportunities for staff.

At times, the Team Lead may assume activities of the Implementation Lead role to ensure successful project delivery and the goals of the program are achieved.


This team lead role liaises regularly and proactively with senior level hospital counterparts and internal teams to ensure quality service, provision of guidance and prompt resolution of issues.

Project Management experience in a healthcare environment, is preferred.

Previous experience in a client-facing project management role with a focus on relationship management and implementation is an asset (preferably healthcare related).


Here is what you will be doing:

  • Develops and manages the strategy and direction of implementation models for service delivery
  • Formulate, direct, and participate in the development and implementation of goals and objectives within the implementation of ATC products and services
  • Actively oversees and manages implementation activities for multiple ATC project and program areas
  • Strategically and efficiently engage key stakeholders such as hospital users, Regional representatives and vendors to ensure a common understanding of ATC initiatives
  • Works effectively with ATC partners to complete deliverables to the required level of quality, on time and on budget;
  • Manages project issues and risks by reaffirming client expectations and taking early action to identify, track and resolve potential problems
  • Conducts project quality assurance, transfer of knowledge/project close and end of project feedback
  • Provides an on-going evaluation of the effectiveness of client services operations and project based services and recommend measures to improve overall service delivery
  • Supervise and coach a team of implementation leads, while ensuring enterprise performance/development goals and standards are met
  • Contribute to recruiting and retaining good talent and ensuring leads are engaged and able to work to their full scope and ability
  • Contributes to organizational efforts and initiatives, as appropriate, to enhance OH's mission, values and goals;
  • Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.

Education and Experience- A Master's Degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Health Administration or Health Informatics or related field or equivalent
