Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office.This role has the overall responsibility for providing key supply chain management support to Wood project teams in our Transmission & Distribution business.

Salary range - $65,000-$80,000

- Execute, coordinate, and manage the purchase of equipment and materials requests from various projects and their teams within the client's and Wood's system.
- Assisting with the documenting of reserving, expediting, and receiving of all materials to various job sites
- Coordinating resolution of shortages and overages
- Reporting on material status per project schedules
- Acquiring competitive quotations from the prequalified supplier in a timely manner
- Preparing agreement based on the client's and Wood's template
- Verifying, attesting, and processing vendor invoices in a desired period
- Resolving the problems arising from the execution of the contract
- Electronic file management in company filesharing systems
- Provide assistance to the senior Procurement member, when it is necessary,
- Solid organization and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Postsecondary business training
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- 57 years experience in buying and materials coordination roles, preferably in a construction environment, is highly desirable
- Advanced level of MS Word and Excel
- Experience working with SAP is considered an asset
