THE ROLE
The Lead Cook prepares cooks and serves food in accordance with menus, established and standardized recipes, and production control charts.
In addition, the Lead Cook ensures quality products and service are being provided while maintaining portion sizes and presentation standards.
The Lead cook oversees cooking and food preparation. They assist with employee supervision and scheduling, with employee training and assist with hiring, as required.The Lead Cook assists with menu planning and cost control for products as well as Orders and receives stock, and deals with suppliers to ensure all products are purchased at best price.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**High school diploma AND several years experience in the food service sector, or in a related hospitality field
Experience
In commercial food service
In food preparation and stock rotation
In personnel administration
In operating kitchen equipment
In ordering and food storage
In providing customer service
